Why delivery matters more than CFU count
CFU count is often used as a measure of strength.
The higher the number, the more effective the product appears.
It’s an easy metric to compare.
And because of that, it’s often used as a shortcut.
More CFUs.
More impact.
At least, that’s how it’s presented.
But what matters isn’t how much is included.
It’s how much actually reaches where it needs to act.
The journey through the digestive system isn’t passive.
It’s selective.
Conditions in the stomach are designed to break things down.
Many organisms don’t make it through.
Others are affected before they can function as intended.
So the number on the label doesn’t tell the full story.
Because not everything that goes in… continues.
This is where delivery becomes more important than volume.
How something is protected.
How it moves through the system.
Where it becomes active.
These are the factors that shape consistency.
Not just quantity.
Because adding more doesn’t solve a delivery problem.
It often just compensates for it.
A more considered approach doesn’t rely on excess.
It relies on structure.
Because what reaches its destination, and remains stable,
will always matter more than what was included at the start.
