EPICOR® — POSTBIOTIC · 500mg

EpiCor® is a whole-food fermentate produced by fermenting Saccharomyces cerevisiae (baker's yeast). Manufactured by Cargill.

Postbiotics are not live organisms. They are the metabolites, cell-wall fractions and bioactive compounds created through fermentation — active regardless of whether any live culture survives digestion.

Research basis - EpiCor® has over 15 published peer-reviewed studies. It has been examined using the SHIME® model (Simulator of the Human Intestinal Microbial Ecosystem), a validated in-vitro system that reproduces the conditions of the human gut. SHIME® research on EpiCor® has examined its interaction with the gut microbiome environment and the production of short-chain fatty acids, including butyrate — a compound produced by gut bacteria that is the focus of substantial ongoing research.

Dose - 500mg, consistent with the amount used in published EpiCor® research.

SUNFIBER® PHGG — PREBIOTIC · 300mg

Sunfiber® is a branded partially hydrolysed guar gum (PHGG) — a soluble fibre from guar beans. Registered trademark of Taiyo Kagaku.

Low-FODMAP certified by Monash University, the institution that developed the low-FODMAP protocol. Certification means independent testing confirmed low levels of fermentable short-chain carbohydrates.

Why it matters - FOS and inulin — two of the most common prebiotic fibres in supplements — are high-FODMAP and ferment quickly in the large intestine. Quick fermentation produces gas as a byproduct, which may contribute to bloating in some individuals. Sunfiber® PHGG ferments more gradually. Published research has examined its tolerability in people with IBS and in those who report sensitivity to other prebiotic fibres.

Also studied for gut transit time and stool consistency in adults.

Structurally distinct from the strains above. Spore-forming bacteria produce endospores — a protective structure that keeps the organism stable under stress, including the acidity of the stomach. This gives inherent stability through digestion, independent of the capsule. Studied across a range of digestive and microbiome endpoints.

ACID-RESISTANT CAPSULE · HPMC · 240mg

A functional part of the formula, not a passive shell.

The stomach sits at roughly pH 1.5–3.5. Standard capsules begin dissolving there almost immediately, and many probiotic strains lose viability on exposure to that acidity before reaching the intestine.

Velari Bio3tic® uses delayed-release capsules made from Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) — a plant-derived material designed to resist dissolution in the stomach and release contents further along the tract. It works alongside the spore-stability of Bacillus coagulans, not instead of it.

ZINC — as Zinc Bisglycinate · 10mg · 100% NRV

A chelated form (zinc bound to glycine), associated with higher bioavailability than inorganic forms such as zinc oxide.

Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

BIOTIN — as D-Biotin · 50µg · 100% NRV

D-biotin is the naturally occurring, biologically active form of vitamin B7 — the form recognised by human enzymes.

Biotin contributes to normal macronutrient metabolism and to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes.
